Generative AI Policy
In order to maintain the highest ethical standards throughout the entire editorial process, the Editorial Board of the journal Studia Translatorica introduces the rules of ethical and responsible use of generative artificial intelligence tools in the publishing process.
The Editorial Board of the journal Studia Translatorica assumes that the generative AI tools cannot replace creative, critical, and responsible human thinking. Therefore, it is not recommended to use generative AI tools capable of independently creating substantive content in the process of preparing an academic article for publication in the journal Studia Translatorica. In particularly justified cases, the use of generative AI tools for generating text fragments, graphics, or collecting and analyzing data should take place under the strict control and supervision of the Author. The Author is obligated to verify the AI-generated content and bears full responsibility for the contents of the article.
In the case of using generative AI in the process of preparing an academic article the Author is obliged to disclose this fact, indicating what generative AI tools have been used, to what extent, and for what purpose. While submitting an article to the journal Studia Translatorica, the filled out and signed Author’s Declaration Regarding the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence Tools has to be attached. The declaration form can be downloaded below.
Information regarding the use of generative AI tools will be added at the end of the article.
The Editorial Board of Studia Translatorica recognizes the value of AI tools which assist the Authors in the process of preparing academic articles by suggesting language corrections, improving text structure and enhancing textual clarity without generating independently substantive content. In such cases, the use of AI tools does not have to be stated.
